OBJECTIVES

  • Identify how dry needling works at the muscular, physiological, and neurological levels.

  • Analyze evidence-based data related to dry needling.

  • Contextualize the history and uses of dry needling.

  • Compare different forms and techniques of dry needling.

  • Identify the indications and contraindications for using dry needling.

  • Apply dry needling techniques in a safe and hygienic manner.

  • Manage the side effects of dry needling.

  • Select needles with dimensions and lengths appropriate for the treated region.

  • Relate anatomy and palpation of the treated muscles.

  • Integrate the techniques learned into the management of clinical cases.

 

PREQUISITES

For any first participation, participants must complete the introductory dry needling prerequisite.
