Across Europe, chiropractic education is delivered within diverse higher education, healthcare, regulatory and quality assurance systems. This diversity supports innovation and institutional autonomy, but it also makes a shared account of graduate capability important for patients, educators, competent authorities, employers and the profession.
This Consensus Statement defines a common European reference point for the knowledge, skills, competencies and professional behaviours expected of newly qualified chiropractors. Its purpose is to strengthen patient safety, educational quality, transparency and collaboration while respecting national law, university governance and different legitimate models of accreditation and quality assurance.
The European Chiropractors’ Union convened this work with European education leaders and relevant professional and quality assurance stakeholders. The resulting framework is intended to be practical: clear enough to communicate externally, rigorous enough to inform education and quality assurance, and sufficiently adaptable to remain relevant across different national systems.
