WHAT CAN CHIROPRACTORS DO TO HELP SOCIETY DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

The Coronavirus pandemic has created an extraordinary situation unlike anything encountered during the past few decades, creating confusion, concern and uncertainty. It is safe to say this is history in the making and future generations will remember this time as an extraordinary event that changed people’s lives.

Decisions regarding the provision of chiropractic care during the emergency lie exclusively with national health authorities and will be  shaped by the WHO guidelines and the relevant central government plans.  The ECU would nevertheless like to reassure the healthcare authorities and  the public that chiropractors who are members of ECU recognised associations are highly trained, skilful and ethical healthcare professionals who can provide services on matters affecting the musculoskeletal system that can help alleviate the overload the health systems around Europe are facing. Thus, freeing up scarce medical resources to focus on tackling COVID-19.

The ECU urges colleagues around Europe to stay calm, alert and comply with the directions of their national governments. We urge all national chiropractic associations to be proactive and communicate with their respective health authorities to offer practical help.
