Vasileios Gkolfinopoulos elected ECU President
On 24 May Vasileios Gkolfinopoulos was elected President of the ECU in succession to Oystein Ogre who stepped down after eight years. In his inaugural address, the new president called on the ECU to adapt, adopt and invest, to adapt the public stance of the profession to the health concerns of the day, to adopt an unequivocal support for evidence as the basis for chiropractic care in Europe and to invest in the growth of the profession, in numbers and in quality. Diversity is our wealth, he asserted, and must be protected by being intolerant of the very limited, but extremely hazardous unethical or dangerous behaviour that hurts the profession. He challenged chiropractors across our continent not only to bow to those who have educated us, but to ask ourselves what is the legacy we will leave to our profession.
