TOGETHER WE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS

THE AEQ HAS RECENTLY HEARD THAT THE COURT JUDGEMENT IN SEVILLE FINDING IN FAVOUR OF CHIROPRACTIC AND AGAINST THE CHARGE OF PRACTICING PHYSIOTHERAPY WITHOUT A LICENCE IS NOW FINAL
Guillermo Busto, President of the AEQ comments:
“The AEQ has been involved in a legal procedure since one of our members was accused of causing lesions to a patient more than 6 years go. This claim was originally made by the patient and soon after the Physiotherapy Council of Sevilla decided to support him and also sue our member for practicing Physiotherapy without a licence.”
“Two years ago, our member was cleared of causing lesions but still faced another trial for practicing without a licence. That second trial took place in July 2019 and the ECU guidance towards presenting Chiropractic as an evidence-based profession was essential to preparing a compelling defence. I am glad to say that all the work has paid off, and we have been informed that our member has been declared innocent of practicing Physiotherapy without a licence.”
“On behalf of the AEQ, I would like to thank all the member associations and the Executive Council of the ECU for your solidarity during this endless 6 years. Without all your support we would have felt very isolated and it is not too strong a sentiment that we would not have been able to do this without you.”
