Event Outline
Achilles tendinopathy and calf strains occur frequently among athletes of various skill levels. Besides the injuries themselves, this area holds particular significance in athletic performance.
During this presentation, we will explore the underlying reasons for this and the causes of these injuries. We will examine essential pointers in evaluating these conditions, and discuss effective methods for strengthening and rehabilitation.
Learning Outcomes
- Awareness of the prevalence of calf and Achilles injuries
- Understanding of aetiology & risk factors
- Understanding of the key components of the physical examination including testing various strength qualities
- Understand rehabilitation considerations and the biggest mistakes made when managing these injuries
Speaker – Luke Nelson
Luke is a titled Sports & Exercise Chiropractor who has worked in private practice in Melbourne for 20 years. He has presented widely across Australia & Internationally on various sporting injury-related topics, primarily focused on running.
