The Pregnant Pelvis

Course Description

This 15 hour seminar will mix lecture and practical sessions and will focus on:

• Normal Pregnancy devolopment
• MSK conditions in pregnancy, incl Pelvic Girdle Pain, extremities, headaches, etc
• Examination and treatment of the Pregnant Pelvis
• Nutrition & Exercise guidelines in pregnancy
• The birth process and optimal foetal positioning
• Complications, co-management and referrals
• Current research and guideline review
• Using outcome measurements and validated questionnaires

Learning Outcomes

• Developing skills in assessing and managing pregnant women
• Gaining knowledge on various aspects of pregnancy including medical management of Pelvic Girdle Pain,
• Understanding and supporting the mother-baby relationship – birth and beyond
