Severn Faculty CPD Event: Motivating our patients to support their own health

 Speaker: Georgie Muir

Georgie Muir graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2009 and has since practiced across the UK and France where, in 2013, she established a mobile chiropractic practice in the French Alps. Accompanying her husband on an exciting two-year military posting to the USA then saw a pause in Georgie’s chiropractic career. Ever the avid learner, educator and health-enthusiast, and while unable to practice, Georgie launched the health and wellbeing platform ‘Chasing Lobsters’ and from this grew a thriving coaching practice which now travels with Georgie as her family continues to move across the world. Since returning to the UK last year, Georgie continues her work as a coach, speaker and locum chiropractor.

 Event outline/Learning Outcomes:

• Some fundamental principles patients need to understand to achieve and sustain good health
• How and why we need to shift the responsibility of healthcare back to patients
• How to quickly and effectively encourage change without overwhelm or fear
• How to empower patients in their ability to make healthy choices and how to support them along the way
• Why some health behaviours last, others don’t and what we can do to alter that
