Taping: Effects and Outcomes

Date: Wednesday 26th April 2017

Venue: BMI St Edmunds Hospital, St Mary’s Square, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 2AA

Event outline:

Taping is not just for sports – it can give you great results with your spinal pain patients too. There will be a hands-on element to the course to get a feel for the tapes. Whether you are just curious about taping and what the fuss is about, or an experienced taper, the concept of this evening focuses on immediate effects and documented outcomes. You will see function and pain change immediately to confirm how useful taping can be in a chiropractic clinic. The concept is built around understanding what tape does and what you are trying to achieve, rather than learning hundreds of taping techniques.

Speaker: Ulrik Sandstrom FRCC, MRCC (Sports) has been involved in elite level sports chiropractic for over 20 years. He is passionate about integrating in a multidisciplinary team working towards ultimate care for the athlete, and has worked with a large range of elite athletes from UK Athletics, Chelsea FC, England Rugby and GB Basketball. He was also selected to work at the Polyclinic in the Stratford Athletes Village during the 2012 London Olympics and has just come back from doing the same job in Rio. He has lectured nationally and internationally to sports medics, physiotherapists and chiropractors on chiropractors’ role in sports as well as specific techniques. He teaches on FICS international modules for sports chiropractors.

Learning Outcomes include:

  • Explore different types of tape and their uses in chiropractic
