Course Description

** Please note this seminar is open to chiropractors and chiropractic students in Year 3 and Year 4 only **

This five-day intensive programme will cover pregnancy, neonates, infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and adolescents. The programme includes theoretical classes, practical workshops and case-based learning in paediatric musculoskeletal health. The programme will cover history and physical examination, serious presentations, common MSK conditions, treatment options for MSK presentations including manual therapy and physical therapy, psychosocial considerations, and professional responsibilities.

Seminar Objectives:

  • To demonstrate competency in taking a history and performing an appropriate physical examination in all paediatric age groups.
  • To recognise normal and abnormal paediatric MSK presentations, generate differential diagnoses, create a management plan, implement safe and appropriate care, and refer as appropriate.
  • To identify safeguarding issues, legal and ethical principles of child health and act as appropriate.
  • To identify relevant public health issues, and safety and risk management procedures.
