Course Description

This course is designed to introduce the healthcare professional to a systemic approach in understanding the basic physiology of blood chemistry and the various associated labs to help recognize patterns that might warrant referrals, necessitate co-management, or need further
diagnostics to help patients. Since labs provide objective, reproducible, and reliable results, possessing a good working knowledge of basic labs can directly improve patient outcomes. Clinical case management options for health support, including clinical jewels and insights (including coordination of care, where appropriate), dietary and nutritional support, and exercise regimens will also be discussed.

Topics include:
• Various lab markers for testing
• Patterns vs single tests
• Assessing various symptoms as they relate to organ systems
• Dietary and nutritional support
