Course Description

To conceptualize the effects of spondylolisthesis on the soft tissues of the spine and its clinical implications as well as conceptualizing the factors which cause Lumbar Stenosis and to understand the mechanisms of exacerbation and placation.

Learning Objectives
• Identify the soft tissue changes which take place when a spondylolisthesis occurs
• Identify the difference between degenerative and isthmic spondylolisthesis
• Be able to discern the findings of spondylolisthesis on MRI
• Understand the effects of spondylolisthesis on the central canal of the lumbar spine
• Define what constitutes central canal stenosis of the lumbar spine
• Identify the causes of lumbar central canal stenosis
• Discern the three most common shapes of spinal canals
• Understand the concept of ligamentum flavum enfolding
