Course Description

Clinicians often rely on expert instruction and clinical experience to shape how they practice. While foundational for many healthcare professionals, relying on historical professional experience exclusively can result in professional blind spots, preventing you from delivering the best care possible. Evidence based practice is a tool that can help uncover blind spots, improve care, and enhance chiropractic’s role in the broader healthcare system.

During this course, you will:
1.Explore evidence based practice in the context of dynamic clinical decision making.
2.Consider how clinical certainty, and the language you use to discuss it, changes based on levels of evidence and the outcomes investigated in clinical research.
3.Discuss clinical decision making in the absence of evidence, and what to do if the evidence challenges your professional experience.
4.Examine the principles of evidence based public health, and how they interface with clinical practice.

Speaker: Michele Maiers, DC
