Course Description
This 1 day seminar will cover the theory of NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) with practical on how this can be integrated into clinical practice.
Seminar Goals:
- Theory including interaction with motor control
- Supporting research evidence
- Effective electrode placement – Motor Points
- Clinical examples e.g. Knee, back and shoulder
Monday morning you will be able to incorporate NMES into your patient management to expedite their recovery.
Schedule:
10:00-11:30 – Theory presentation including review of supporting research
11:30-12:30 – Basic set up including locating motor points and correct electrode placement
12:30-13:30 – Lunch
13:30-16:00 – clinical practice using knee, back and shoulder pathologies as examples
** It is advised to bring a pair of shorts and vest top / t-shirt for the practical **
