Topics:
1st hour: a logical sequential approach to plain film differential diagnosis
2nd hour: the components of a proper radiology report: how to compose it and the medicolegal implications
Learning outcomes:
At the end of this session, the attendee should be able to:
– – identify the categories of osteopathology as they pertain to radiological assessment
– apply a logical, sequential approach to plain film x-ray interpretation
– acquire increased confidence in plain film differential diagnosis
– better understand how to incorporate the use of a chiropractic radiologist as a consultant
– compose a proper radiographic report as a portion of proper patient record keeping
Topics:
3rd & 4th hours: clinical radiology rounds – audience participation is encouraged in this presentation of a wide variety of cases from all categories of osteopathology, emphasizing logical differential diagnosis
Learning outcomes:
At the end of this session, the attendee should be able to:
– describe a wide variety of plain film musculoskeletal and soft tissue pathologies with greater confidence
Topics:
5th hour: scoliosis – aetiologies, x-ray assessment, treatment options, including discussion of various braces and types of surgery

At the end of this session, the attendee should be able to:
– recognize the aetiologies of scoliosis, its radiographic evaluation, and treatment options
Topics:
6th hour: clinical and radiographic signs of child abuse and your responsibility as a chiropractor
Learning outcomes:
At the end of this session, the attendee should be able to:
– be aware of the clinical and radiographic clues suggesting non-accidental paediatric trauma
– understand the DC’s legal obligation to report suspected child abuse
The lecture is presented by: Dr. Marshall Deltoff
Marshall Deltoff, DACBR, FCCR (Can), FEAC, is a 1983 honors graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. He has over 30 years of academic, clinical and regulatory experience, having performed and read over 140,000 plain film x-ray examinations. He is the co-author of The Portable Skeletal X-Ray Library, a textbook of radiological bone diseases, as well as several book chapters, manuscripts and research papers. Marshall has served as the President of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, the regulatory body for over 5,000 DCs in that province. Currently, he is Professor of Radiology at Barcelona College of Chiropractic, and manages Images Radiology Consultants, an online xray reporting service for colleagues worldwide.
