Course Title: GEN-C presents Common Skin Diseases with Relevance to Chiropractors
The course consists of three lectures introducing you to the current literature in common skin diseases. The lecture includes how to describe and recognise common skin complaints, when to refer, as well as if the skin complaint could affect your treatment plan for manual therapy.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course, the learner should be able to:
1. Describe and start to recognize the most common skin diseases.
2. Categorize the most important skin diseases in contagious or not contagious.
3. Assess the warning signs that warrant referral to secondary skin care.
4. Analyse the impact of a common skin disease towards their differential diagnosis.

Following completion of the lecture, you will be directed to 10 multiple choice questions. Upon successful completion of these questions you will be emailed a CPD certificate for 2 hours (or 2 points).

The lecture is presented by Tom Michielsen MD, MSc (Chiro), FEAC:
Tom works a as a chiropractor in a private group practice in Mol and Turnhout, Belgium. In 1998, he got his degree in medicine from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. He graduated from AECC in 2001 as valedictorian. From 2008 until 2013, he was the chairman of the ECU research fund. In 2016, he was appointed as a member of the academic advisory committee of the European Chiropractic Centre for Research Excellence (ECCRE). From 2015 until 2019, he was the vice president of the Belgian Chiropractic Union. Tom is the chairman of the European Academy of Chiropractic since 2017.
