Course Description
An important session for every chiropractor or manual therapist who treats infants and toddlers.
A day in the infant and toddler clinics:
A deep look at musculoskeletal health of the young child. Examination and treatment of foot, hip, back, neck and shoulder disorders of the infant and toddler and their ramifications and management strategies. In-depth look at the clinical research along with clinical conditions such as colic, constipation and allergy and conditions masquerading as musculoskeletal. Important new review of forces of treatment for manual therapy; how to stay safe and get results. An important session for every chiropractor or manual therapist who treats infants and toddlers.
The goals of this seminar are to update the clinician on the following:
- Specific aspects of musculoskeletal health of the infant and toddler that can be detected and treated in a conservative manner
- Anatomy and development of the spine and limbs
- Key patient presentations and approach to each
- Specific model of care for each presentation
- How to manage specific treatments: taping, forces, specific approach at each age
- Gait analysis in the toddler
- Examination of the current research: what it says, what it means, and what is needed
- Cases from the audience and question and answer time to address clinical issues
