Course Description
Course Synopsis
In this session, you’ll learn the etiology of soft tissue injuries, the general mechanism of soft tissue healing, and how to apply these principles to initiate and carry out musculoskeletal rehabilitation programs. Review the most common extremity injuries encountered in your practice, the modes of injury, exam findings, diagnosis, and the most important facets of rehabilitating these injuries.
Day 1
08:30-09:30 – Etiology of soft tissue injuries. Phases of soft tissue healing
09:30-11:30 – Passive, Passive Assistive, Passive Resistive, Active Resistive, Isometric Protocols, Isotonic Protocols
11:30-12:30 – Proprioceptive principles and protocols – Lecture and Practicum with low-tech equipment
12:30-13:30 LUNCH BREAK
13:30-15:30 – Core Stabilization and Strengthening – Lecture and Practicum with low-tech equipment
15:30-18:30 – Functional Training Principles – Lecture and Practicum with low-tech equipment
Day 2
08:00-09:30 Shoulder anatomy, history, exam – Lecture and Practicum. Impingement and rotator cuff tendonitis with low-tech equipment. Biceps tendonitis, Labral tears, Frozen shoulder, Nerve entrapment syndromes, T.O.S., Glenohumeral instability
