Adjusting seminar – Contemporary Concepts in Adjusting by Dr Brett Winchester

Course Description:

Participants will be shown current research on the adjustment and how it applies to clinical practice.  Over the years, many myths about the adjustment have been championed.  Unfortunately, this has led to confusion and created a deficit in learning.  This breakout session will address all of these myths and how to reconcile them.  Then there will be a break-down of the mechanics necessary to master adjusting.  This will include intra-abdominal pressure as it relates to thrusting.  Because being great at adjusting is a psychomotor skill, certain skills need to be learned and practiced to achieve mastery.  Next, the importance of dynamic palpation will be discussed.  Dynamic palpation tells the chiropractor exactly where to perform adjustments and which planes of motion to include.  Participants will be shown how to marry dynamic palpation to the adjustment.  Finally, participants will be shown how to perform a variety of adjustments to key areas of the spine.
