NEW GEN-C MODULE RELEASED
We are pleased to announce that a new module has just been added to GEN-C, the CPD vehicle brought to members of ECU associations by a consortium of the ECU, CA and RCC.
The module is: Paediatric Obesity – what is the role of chiropractors in this endemic health crisis?
Emerging research shows the relationship between paediatric obesity and adult health status, including musculoskeletal health, especially back pain. Chiropractors are well suited to manage both paediatric and adolescent musculoskeletal conditions and to address the public health aspects of patient care.
This module developed by the European Academy of Chiropractic, Paediatric Special Interest Group aims to provide an understanding of the epidemiology, prevention, and management of obesity in the paediatric patient. In addition, to provide strategies for the chiropractor to address these issues, with a focus on the special considerations in the chiropractic management of the obese child. Management includes prevention, appropriate forces for manual therapy, and motor pattern rehabilitation.
Our presenters for this module are;
Sue A. Weber Hellstenius BSc, DC, MSc APP Paediatric Musculoskeletal Health
Amy Miller BSc, MSc Chiropractic, PhD student
Lise Hestbaek DC, PhD
Aurélie Marchand M Chiro, PgCert, MScAPP Paediatric Musculoskeletal Health
