New GEN-C Module Released – Dr Michelle Holmes

The next module has just been added to GEN-C. The module is titled:Patient Reported Outcome Measures in Clinical Practice [CPD 1/hr]by Dr Michelle Holmes, PhD

Patient-centred care is facilitated by using outcome measures to assist in shared-decision making, monitor treatment progress and benchmark outcomes. This module helps the clinician understand and implement outcome measures in their practice. After completion of this module, participants will: •              Define patient reported outcome measures and their classifications•              Describe the use of PROMs in clinical practice with individual patients•              Explains the benefits of PROMs within clinical practice•              Compare approaches to utilise PROMs within practice About Dr Michelle HolmesDr Michelle Holmes is a health services researcher with experience of working with various healthcare professionals and patient groups. Her research involves collating and promoting research to improve patient outcomes and delivery of health services. Michelle’s personal research interests include: patient experience of care, self-management, chronic conditions and multimorbidity, and the pedagogy of research methods. Michelle completed her PhD at the University of Southampton, examining patient-reported outcomes as active components of treatment for low back pain. At AECC University College she is a Senior Lecturer in Research Methods and leads the Professional Development Framework. In 2022, Michelle became an honorary member of the British Chiropractic Association for her research contributions to the chiropractic profession.
